Conservation Treatment for Word War I Dough-Boy

Life size zinc, lead joints with copper electroplating.
Strip down to original electroplated surface, (most of the old copper electroplate had corroded away).
Application of new copper using special on-site equipment.
Sculpted and replaced fingers.
Cast zinc reproduction W.W. I rifle.
Sculpted, cast and replaced cuffs that were destroyed by vandals.
Complete cold patination with a Syncrylac coating and two layers of wax.

For this town, in 2000 we also did a complete conservation treatment.

Dedicated to the troops of G. A. R. 1889, a 9 foot bronze soldier stands on top of a 27' outstanding sculpted granite base. We polished the granite letters and cleaned the entire granite with outstanding results.
